Before there was R. Kelly, Usher and Trey Songz, there was Freddie Jackson. The R&B pioneer ruled ’80s R&B with seminal ballads like “You Are My Lady” and “Rock Me Tonight.”
Now, he’s back with his new single, “One Night,” the first release off his upcoming album, Love Signals. The easygoing flow of the song is perfect for date night with your bae. Freddie promises his lady that if she gives him one night “it’ll feel like New Years Eve.”
Always a gentleman, Jackson is chivalrous as he sings, “I’ll be your DJ / I’ll play your favorite song … whatever you want, it’s your call.” He recently told Rolling Out magazine, “Love Signals tells it all. I wanted to create something that people can relate to in this day and time. There is so much of the opposite in the news and everywhere you look. I just felt we need to send each other more, Love Signals.”
