Jhené Aiko recently took a ‘Trip’ to join Real 92.3’s Big Boy’s Neighborhood for a special mini concert in support of her new album as part of their “Big Boy’s Backstage” series.
The angelic songstress performed a short set of tracks off her stellar sophomore album Trip. Filmed at the Real 92.3 Lounge, Jhené opened her intimate set with the Sway Lee-assisted “Sativa,” giving the lucky fans in attendance a little taste of her “Trip (The Tour).” She followed up with “Never Call Me,” “Nobody” and closed with the single “While We’re Young.”
In addition to her performance, Jhené joined the crew for a candid interview where she spoke about the notebook that she’s kept since a teenager. The singer says she’s always shared her thoughts and feelings and with Trip she feels that she’s given about 50% of herself to everyone through the short movie and her poetry book, which is available now on Amazon.
When asked to describe it in three words she responded with: “Some Real Shit.”
