Tinashe doubles down today while skrrting away from the haters on her brand new single “No Drama” featuring Offset.
Hours after debuting the single, the multi-hyphenated star appeared on MTV’s “TRL” to premiere the electrifying music video. The dance-centric, contrast-heavy visual is a striking return for Tinashe, who will hopefully see the release of her oft-delayed sophomore album, Joyride, this year.
The singer’s style and outfits are vivid and stunning throughout the intoxicating clip, directed by Sasha Samsonova (Gallant, Teyana Taylor). Starting with her flexing some seductive choreography in a red box with a troop of male and female dancers.
“Tried to be myself but they won’t AKA me / AKA a pop star AKA a problem / AKA don’t hold me back I swear I got ’em,” she sings. “We pulled up in Gucci dripped down in Gabbana / Bad as I wanna only chasin’ commas.”
Black threads with diamond-like bedazzling is the theme of her various looks, which she compliments with different blond wigs. Offset (of Migos) is decked out in glaciers of ice himself as he spits his verse from a dimly lit space with chains hanging from the ceiling, followed by a smokey boiler room where Tinashe joins him for the final chorus.
Last week, the “Flame” singer teased three new singles, including “No Drama,” “Me So Bad,” and “Faded Love.” They are all expected to appear on her long-awaited sophomore album Joyride, the follow-up to 2014’s Aquarius.
