Nashville based breakout artist R.LUM.R has announced a March 9 release for ALTERIMAGE, an EP featuring stunning new renditions of tracks from his critically acclaimed 2017 debut, AFTERIMAGE. The EP’s six tracks were all recorded live and in one take, incorporating a string quartet, grand piano and acoustic guitars to create alternate versions of the songs.
To get fans excited, the singer-songwriter has unleashed a performance music video for “Learn (altered).” The emotional visual finds him in the midst of the recording session, filmed in chilly blue hues. The string section greatly enhance the heartfelt layers of the stripped-back rendition, as the crooner pulls back pieces of his feelings from a separation.
“Been awhile since we’ve spoken,” he sings. “It’s hard to find words to say / ‘Cause all we got left in common / Is how long we’ve been this way.”
R.LUM.R will perform these songs on his new tour, which just kicked off in Memphis, along with sets at SXSW, Bonnaroo and Hangout Festival, with more to come.
