Better late than never is the case with the new video from jazzy songstress Niia. After releasing her debut album ‘I‘ nearly a year ago, the song “California” from the LP was highlighted by an official remix with rapper Boogie.
The lush ballad has now been visualized in a split screen black and white story, as Niia sings about a relationship that has her questioning the decisions that lead her to this point.
“Came to California, nothing but those blue skies / Why’d I leave my old life? / Blame it on your grey eyes,” she sings. “Cause every time you need me I fall apart / And every time you trust me I break your heart / And every time you kiss me it’s just okay / And every time you’re with me I’m far away.”
Boogie adds his own conscious tale of growing past his old life and looking for brighter days. “Lets draw a space and erase all the borders,” he raps. “Lets follow our faith and not follow no orders / Losing myself while I’m chasing a fortune.”
