BBC 1Xtra’s Live Lounge has been on an incredible roll lately. After featuring Khalid, then Dvsn, their latest session features buzzing R&B songstress H.E.R.
Performing for DJ Target, the singer/songwriter catered to the series encouragement of covering another artists music with her famed rendition of Drake’s “Jungle.” The cover song is in fact the sole reason fans were able to determine her identity (Gabi Wilson) after making her 2016 introduction under the name H.E.R.
She stayed seated for the entire five minute cover, wearing her signature big shades as she sang over the organ-laced track. The studio featured smokey purple hues and electric green graphics flying around digital screens.
In addition to the standout cover, H.E.R. also delivered her fan-favorite song “Focus.” She lit the room with neon red lights and purple digital graphics this time.
