Leon Bridges has been making his return this year but his latest release goes “Beyond” his signature retro-soul sound. Following the cinematic music videos for “Bad Bad News” and “Bet Ain’t Worth the Hand,” the singer/songwriter shares the third release off her forthcoming album Good Thing.
Paired with a visual that displays an immensely star-filled sky, the folky record finds Leon deeply in love but having cold feet over the woman that might be the love of his life.
“She shines me up like gold on my arm,” he sings. “I wanna take it slow but it’s so hard / I love to see her face in daylight / It’s more than just our bodies at night.”
Beginning to honestly embrace his passionate feelings about her Bridges still ponders, “Will she have my kids? Will she be my wife?” he sings on the chorus. “She might just be my everything and beyond.”
