Daniel Caesar and H.E.R. bring romance to the beach.
Fresh off their “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” performance, the soulful duo joins forces in the beautiful, cinematic video for “Best Part.”
Directed by Keavan Yazdani & Sean Brown, the split-screen visual is a captivating affair, featuring both singers walking along the water at different times of day. Daniel takes in the sunrise with light pink and blue hues in the sky, while H.E.R. maintains her mystery as a silhouette in front of a fiery orange sunset.
The juxtaposition is gorgeous and while they seem worlds apart their voices are still entwined despite the distance. It’s a cinematic exposition worthy of the song’s luscious and lovelorn emotionality.
“If life is a movie, then you’re the best part,” they sing. “If you love me, won’t you say something?”
“Best Part” appeared on Daniel Caesar’s debut Freudian and H.E.R.’s Vol. 2: The B Sides EP. Both projects dropped last year to critical praise.
