Two of the culture’s most exciting young stars link up for a ‘Superfly‘ new collaboration. While they are both still touring and working on new albums, Khalid and H.E.R. unveil “This Way,” their anticipated duet off the soundtrack to the upcoming movie SUPERFLY.
The crooners play the role of troubled lovers over the acoustic-driven instrumental. Khalid reveals a deep influence that he can’t seem to shake while filing his feelings under absolute, true love. “What more can I say? / You make me this way,” he sings.
H.E.R. experienced the situations differently, as she offers up a soulful response. “You took me for granted,” she sings. “Always want to play the victim when they don’t know the truth is / You left me this scar on my heart / When I’d never take it that far.”
The Future-produced soundtrack to SUPERFLY arrives Friday (Jun. 8) featuring appearances from PARTYNEXTDOOR, Lil Wayne, 21 Savage, Young Thug, Miguel, and more, while the movie—starring Trevor Jackson hits theaters June 13.
