Last month, 6LACK unveiled the first taste of his upcoming album with his latest single “Switch.” The Joel Little-produced track includes uncredited vocals from Ty Dolla $ign. On “Switch,” 6lack sings about finding accountability in certain situations by swapping perspectives.
“It’s been one of the songs that makes me just reflect more. It’s not a song where you have to look too deep into the actual lyrics but more so on how you feel about the lyrics,” 6lack tells Genius. “When I hear it, when I look at the video, I start to think about all the things that are going on in my life and it doesn’t make me feel sad or anything. It just makes me actually think about it because when you’re on the road and you’re working and you’re doing shit all the time, sometimes you just try not to think. The song actually makes me stop and pay attention to my personal and not ignore it.”
6lack recently broke down the lyrics and meaning of the single for the latest episode of Genius‘ series “Verified.” Watch him go line-for-line with “Switch” in the video below.
