After making history as the very first winner of FOX’s “The Four,” Evvie McKinney returned to the show’s season 2 finale on Thursday (Aug. 2) to debut her single “How Do You Feel.”
Executive produced by The Four co-creator and judge Sean “Diddy” Combs, the powerful, contemporary ballad illuminates both the range and nuances of Evvie’s voice. She delivers emotionally charged verses before a soaring and soulful hook confronting a cheating ex.
“How do you feel, when you’re with her?” she sings. “When she cracks a smile does it light up your world? / How do you feel, when it’s all said and done? / Are you in love with her? / Even though you can’t see.”
It’s a perfect introduction to her sound, and it heralds the release of more new music from the 20-year-old rising powerhouse.
“I knew Evvie was special from the moment she walked on that stage, she had that star quality and an incredible voice,” says Combs. “I have a good intuition about talent and I got that feeling with her. This song is a smash and this the just the beginning of her journey.”
