Talented songstress Justine Skye is back with her new project and she’s here to expose it all. Titled “BARE WITH ME,” the six-song EP is her first release since recently splitting ways with Roc Nation to launch her independent label, Nynetineth.
Featuring collaborations from heavy hitters of the industry including Hit Boy, James Fauntleroy, Ari PenSmith, P2J and DreSkull, the songstress has noted this new era of music to be her most honest yet.
“Over the course of my career, I feel like I lost that authenticity because I was so caught up in trying to chase that radio sound that the labels want you to get,” Justine said in a recent interview with Teen Vogue. “They don’t really care if you connect to it or not.”
This time though, she’s done running after something that’s not for her.
Giving a nod to her Jamaican heritage, the former self-proclaimed “Purple Unicorn” found an appropriate way to blend true R&B with Dancehall and AfroBeats-influenced tracks for a solid and undeniably personal project. Showcasing transparency and continuing to put her talent in the forefront, the new EP is sure to resonate with the likes of R&B lovers everywhere.
