Talented crooner Arin Ray has brought us another flawless track and this time, he tapped Bay Area songbird Kehlani to make it happen. Releasing their soulful duet, “Change,” the two go from breakup to makeup in the three minute track.
Singing out over a sample of 112’s 1996 hit single “Only You,” the Cincinnati native tells his lover that some things will never change with their routine of calling it quits and anticipation of being back together again. Cooing out lyrics like “You stole my heart and I mean it / But you can’t take what you need and not give back to me,” Ray’s opening verse is relatable to current and former lovers everywhere.
Taking her verse by storm, Kehlani then comes in with blissful sounds and reflects on their relationship over the years. When speaking of the track prior to its release, Kehlani posted on her Instagram: “favorite collaboration i’ve done in a long time. I f*ckin love this song.”
The visual for “Change” — which was directed by AJ & Miles is expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
