Grammys: Lizzo Wins & Delivers Dynamite Performance

By

Sunday’s 62nd Grammy Awards was one for the history books. With unlikely duets, tear jerking ballads, surprise wins and snubs it was a great way to start the new decade. This is especially true for superstar Lizzo who opened the show with an explosive medley of her hits “Truth Hurts” and “Cuz I Love You.” Backed by an orchestra and an army of plus sized dancers, Lizzo showed everyone why she was named TIME’s Entertainer of the Year. Her larger than life persona was matched by her big voice and sassy dance moves. She even took a moment to display her skills as a trained flautist.

Lizzo led the pack with eight Grammy Award nominations, and when the night concluded she walked away with three trophies: “Best Pop Solo Performance (“Truth Hurts”), “Best Traditional R&B Performance (“Jerome”),” and “Best Urban Contemporary Album (Cuz I Love You).”
