In the visual for her new single “Why,” fast-rising Bronx R&B singer Angelica Vila plays the field in search of her love interest, including using dating apps. “Tell me why it should be you,” the 21-year-old sings.
The romantic-comedy video, which is the follow-up to her current single “More in the Morning” and is sitting at #23 on Billboard Hip Hop/R&B Songs Airplay chart — features Vila going on a series of dates and dining at fancy restaurants in hopes this potential suitor would be the one. Cash Money artist Jacquees appears in the video as a prince charming who also pursues a love interest of his own.
The phenomenal vocals and internationally appealing Angelica signed a record deal with Roc Nation with a partnership with Republic Records in 2020, but was was discovered in 2017 by Fat Joe after her freestyle to DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts” went viral on social media. In 2017, Vila was featured on the Papoose and Remy Ma hit, “The Golden Child” and while it’s been a bit of a wait,sShe is currently developing her debut project, slated for late-2020.
