R&B singer/songwriter Sainvil debuts both the single and music video for “Boxed In” featuring critically acclaimed Compton rapper Boogie.
“Boxed In” was created in response to the current state of affairs in America. The heart-rending visual delves deep into the mass killings of innocent black people. Filmed in LA, the video opens with Sainvil attempting to comfort his nephew while he watches the violence on the news that shows a nerve-racking scene which features Boogie.
“Boxed In” serves as the first single from Sanvil’s forthcoming EP, ‘2020 WAS HIJACKED.’ The Haitian, Miami native compiled all the complex emotions 2020 has brought due to the global pandemic and brutality, turning them into digestible, heart-felt songs on ‘2020 WAS HIJACKED.’
At the top of this year, Sanvil dropped his debut EP, In Bad Shape. The project featured seven lyrically supreme tracks including fan-favorite “Shoulders”; delivering a monumental body of work that tackled various emotional lessons Sainvil experienced in life. His brooding and unapologetic style of R&B has already garnered early praise from today’s R&B landscape.
Both “Boxed In” and the forthcoming EP, ‘2020 WAS HIJACKED’ are examples of how Sainvil can turn the lemons of life into lemonade. Sainvil is one artist to keep on your radar this fall.
