Black Music Honors is an annual event that acknowledges the legendary African American artists who have influenced and made significant musical contributions to African American culture and American music worldwide.

EN Vogue, Deborah Cox, Fred Hammond and THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSIC to receive awards and recognition.

Grammy Award winner, singer, actress and Broadway star Deborah Cox is named the Entertainer Icon Award Honoree at the 5th Annual Black Music Honors Awards 2020. As a Grammy-nominated recording artist, Cox has released six critically-acclaimed career albums, and has scaled the R&B and pop charts with six top 20 Billboard magazine R&B singles and an impressive thirteen No. 1 hits on their Hot Dance Club Play Chart. In addition to creating musical hits across the R&B, Pop, Jazz, and Dance genres, Cox has established herself as a multi-talented artist carving out her place within the worlds of Broadway, television, film, and fashion.

ThisIsRnB’s C.E.O. and Host, Kadeja Wexler chatted with the Honoree, Deborah Cox about her viral “Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here” challenge and what it meant to her. Kadeja also chatted with multi-talented artist Tweet about her highly anticipated upcoming album and new single “Never Felt This Way.

Black Music Honors 2020 is hosted by Rickey Smiley  and performers of the evening include Musiq Soulchild, Raheem DeVaughn, Tweet, MAJOR., June’s Diary, Brian Courtney Wilson, D Smoke, Evvie McKinney, Marvin Sapp, RL , and Sheléa.
