J. Cole’s Second Annual Dreamville Music Festival In North Carolina Was Amazing

By

In case you missed it, J.Cole’s second annual “Dreamville Music Festival” took place earlier this month and once again provided a wonderfully curated, two-day multi-stage music event.

The festival was held in J.Cole’s home state of North Carolina and offered an opportunity for him to give back with a one-of-a-kind celebration of local culture, food, and art. It featured a curated selection of music performers blending together some of today’s biggest national acts such as JaRule, Ashanti, Kehalni, Wale, Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, T-Pain, and many more including noteworthy indie artists.

The show was epic with most acts starting on time, and the weather cooperating, both days ran smoothly. Lil baby was the headliner of night one and J Cole headlined for day two. The festival overall was well put together with plenty of props and places to capture photos of the event as evidenced by our photographer Chris Iwuoma. The merch was amazing with a large variety of shirts, sweaters, and hoodies for a fair price. There were a variety of vendors with unique offerings including amazing pizza, and funnel cakes, even a huge Ferris wheel in the middle of the festival.  The crowd had crazy energy filled with fun and exuberance for the event and the artists. Ari Lennox performed her songs pressure, BMO, and whipped cream. Jcole brought out the entire Dreamville to perform during his set.

The festival itself aims to provide a unique opportunity for locals and traveling visitors alike to gather and enjoy a music celebration in one of Raleigh’s most beautiful and historic locations, Dorothea Dix Park – Raleigh’s largest city park with over 300 acres of public greenspace. Dreamville Festival’s ultimate goal is to not only have a positive and substantial economic and cultural impact on the city itself and the surrounding regions but also to be one of the most anticipated annual events in the city – one that is a perfect complement to the existing event landscape and cultural fabric of the City of Raleigh.
