Mara Hruby Talks Upcoming ‘Archaic Rapture’ EP, Performs Two Songs

Mara Hruby is a singer-songwriter who we’ve been fans of for a few years, and while she hasn’t released much recently, that is quickly about to change as the Oakland native is prepping for the release of her new EP ‘Archaic Rapture,’ due out March 18, which will then be followed by her first official album.

The jazzy songstress recently stopped by the Billboard offices to chat with Erika Ramirez about the upcoming EP, and she also graced their live stage with a performance of two cuts from the project.

“‘Archaic Rapture’ is a really emotional project for me. It’s six songs, one of the songs is an original that my aunt wrote. The other five songs are Jazz standards from the 40s, 50s era,” she told Billboard. “It was the best way for me to emotionally get through the biggest heartbreak, actually my only heartbreak that I’ve ever been through.”
