Mariah Carey’s ‘Me. I Am Mariah…’ First Week Sales Projections

Mariah Carey has had an interesting campaign for her brand new album Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse. The diva’s 14th studio album hit stores this Tuesday, May 27, after being announced just a month prior, but unfortunately has yet to yield another hit single since 2013’s “#Beautiful” featuring Miguel.

The follow-up to 2009′s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel caters to Mariah’s diverse fanbase with a mixture of hip-hop inspired tracks, strong ballads and even disco-soul. With a roster of featured guests including Nas, Fabolous, Miguel, Wale, Stevie Wonder, and even Dem Babies, along with production from hitmakers including Jermaine Dupri, Hit-Boy, Rodney Jerkins, and Q-Tip.

The album has been receiving mostly positive reviews from critics and fans alike, but are they coming out and supporting? The projected numbers are now in…

According to Hits Daily Double, the anticipated album has not been performing well commercially and it is currently slated to sell between 60-65k copies in it’s first week. Which would most likely land Mimi the #2 or #3 spot.

While her numbers won’t compare to similar campaigns from fellow all-star artists, the project does boasts some strong records, and we hope it can sustain some consistency throughout the year.

Have you heard the album yet? What do you think of Mariah’s new LP??

Releasing You Don’t Know What To Do as a single may help the album sales in the next weeks.
