Artist/producer/entrepreneur, Jermaine Dupri, has been in the entertainment business for 3 decades, he knows how things work.  Following the recent court decision that Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke were so heavily influenced by Marvin Gaye’s “Got To Give It Up” for their hit single “Blurred Lines,” that they must pay over $7 million in royalties to the Gaye family, Dupri made a statement in an interview that Ciara’s latest single, “I Bet,” is very similar to one of his previous records, Usher’s “You Got It Bad.”

Stopping by Atlanta’s V-103 for an interview with Big Tigger on Wednesday, the hitmaker cleared up his statement and spoke further about his views on the “Blurred Lines” verdict, why he made the connection between Ciara’s song and Ushers (which is very similar), and shared the business side of sampling versus an interpolation.
