As Ciara returns to dominance with her surprise anthem “Level Up,” the singer leverages the rekindled success with the brand new dance single “Freak Me” featuring Nigerian Afrobeat artist Tekno.
“Been dying to share this with you! Can’t wait! #AfroBeats #AfroWave#FreakMeFriday,” CiCi posted to Instagram. The tropical banger finds her once again commanding dance floors and bedrooms.
“Wind slow on it, take control of it, take all of it,” she sings. “I’ll be the freak that you need / I won’t tell nobody / How you freak my body.”
“Level Up” continues to enjoy viral success thanks to the dance-heavy video and “Level Up” Challenge. The song is currently No. 59 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has spawned a remix with Missy Elliott and Fatman Scoop.
“Freak Me” is the second release from Ciara’s upcoming album, due on her label Beauty Marks Entertainment. You can expect even more dance hits on the project, her first since 2015’s Jackie. “I want to make the world dance,” she told Harper’s Bazaar last year.
To accompany the single, the hitmaker released a short dance video, which she recently filmed in Soweto, a township in Johannesburg, South Africa. “Thank you to the beautiful people of #Soweto for an incredible time and experience!,” she wrote.
