If you’ve been praying for Malachiae to drop something for the new year, your prayers have been answered. Back with a new video the his single titled “Try To Love,” the Motown-signee is throwing it back to what encouraged him to step into singing: ’90s music. Filled with nostalgic sounds and sexy vibes, the song — if you haven’t heard it already — will quickly become a repeat listen for fans of the young crooner.

Cooing out about trying to love his lady right, but seeming to fall short, the song — according to Malachiae — is a representation of pushing through to love even when it doesn’t feel like it’s going to work out.

“”Try to Love” represents giving love your all even when times get hard,” he said. “It’s a song we all can relate to. It captures a situation that most of us had to go through to get to the other side of love. With this video, I wanted to show the world that love isn’t easy, but it’s always worth an honest try.”

Shot in Atlanta and directed by Malachi Lee, the visual shows the singer going through the motions with his lover and, at the end, doing his best to remind her why they’re meant to be.

Check out the video below as we anticipate more new sounds.
