Bruno Mars is headed to Disney.
According to Deadline, the 11 time Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter has secured a deal with Disney to star and produce an upcoming untitled music-driven film. In addition to starring and producing the film, Mars will also create perform a vast majority of the film’s original music.
Set to be the “24K Magic” creator’s debut in a starring role, the news comes after months of discussion and negotiation between the two parties. Prior to news of this upcoming film, Mars appeared in 1992’s Honeymoon in Vegas at six years old and voiced the role of Roberto in Blue Sky Studios’ Rio 2.
If you are excited to see what Mars will cook up with Disney for the new film, don’t get too excited just yet. The film still needs to sign on a writer and director to bring it to life. Likewise, the plot to the film is being kept tightly under wraps. Whatever it’s about though, we expect it to be amazing.
