Multi-award winning, extremely-talented singer/songwriter Vivian Green releases her highly anticipated seventh studio album today 11/13, “Love Absolute.”

Sonically, lyrically and vocally “Love Absolute” is a testament to her true artistry.  Taking time to perfect every element on the album including her strikingly signature vocals which are as fresh, crisp and  sharp as ever. The album emotes a certain maturity in her and how relationships have influenced the her art. What you will hear in this album are the emotions and effects of love. It’s  about the arching relevance of  love including the ups the downs and the turnarounds of lost and found love. Such a necessary piece of work especially during this social climate.

The soulful singer/songwriter and producer stopped by ThisIsRnB to talk her new album, “Love Absolute,” the process, favorite tracks, time in the industry, inspiration, vulnerability, a capsule of history wrapped within the album and everything Vivian Green.

“Love absolute encompasses things I absolutely love…it’s a very vulnerable and personal project.” The project differs from her previous albums, “because the goal was to show a more vulnerable side of herself and to make it as authentic and organically as possible. Every mid-tempo and ballad began at the piano. I began writing songs at the piano when at a young age. For me it is the purest expression of songwriting. My voice and the keys serve as vessels of the music in my head…”

Green also shared her inspiration behind the album “my life is not always the inspiration behind everything I write, but in this case ‘Love Absolute ‘ definitely is… it was intentional about making sure it was created organically… self-love is very important to make records about self-love and to inspire others to love themselves that’s absolutely important.  Love of my child is on there, love of my people and love of my love as well.”

“Love Absolute” manages to provide a history lesson on our diaspora in one of Green’s favorites and ours from the album “We Are Everywhere.”  The afro-beat track starts off with a question from her son Jordan “where did all the slaves go that survived the passage.”   the song addresses that question and surviving the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade… the struggles of our people and the places we went, the major slave ports are mentioned in the single .. how vast the trade was and how many people it affected.”

During the interview, the vocally gifted songbird also blessed us with a snippet of one her other favorite  ‘Where You Are.” As she sang we could feel the raw emotional vibrations and felt every note run deep down within her has full vocal range and natural throaty breaks to let her voice breath and flow effortlessly that most vocalists do not possess.

There’s something for everyone on the album with guest features Ghostface Killah whom she credits her love Kwame’ for bringing to the project, internationally renown saxophonist Mike Philips, her sister Sharahn and son Jordan.

ThisIsRnB is giving you the Green light to do yourself a favor and show yourself some love and download, stream and go purchase “Love Absolute” today! The more you listen the more your learn.
