Grammy-award-winning renowned musicians, songwriters, and producers The Avila Brothers are still riding high after gracing the stage alongside R&B global Superstar Usher for an electrifying 2024 Superbowl performance.
In addition to their performance, The Avila Brothers served as musical directors who put the songs together for the show. They are the first Mexican Americans responsible for producing the most-viewed halftime show of all time with over 202.4 million views and counting.
The powerhouse Avila Brothers have collaborated toured, and are the creative force performing and producing for incredible artists such as Michael Jackson, Prince, Earth, Wind and Fire, Janet Jackson, Chaka Khan, Snoop Dogg, and Gwen Stefani to name just a few.
Rooted in their upbringing in Rialto, California, the Avila Brothers attribute their musical journey to the unwavering support of their family, mentors, and community. The brothers attribute the introduction to music and continuing nurturing of their musical curiosity to their father, who played the keyboard in a band.
During an awe-inspiring conversation, ThisIsRnB had the absolute pleasure of speaking with one-half of the dynamic duo, IZ Avila. From childhood to signing with legendary Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis to meeting Usher for the first time at one of the recording studios. IZ shares the brothers’ musical journey, working with Usher on various projects, over 20 years, and his RIAA Certified Diamond Album “Confessions.”
IZ talks about the “Tale of the Tape” on how collaborating with Lil Jon on Usher’s Vegas Residency and manifesting the moment with that great musical experience, afforded the brothers the amazing opportunity of the Superbowl 2024.
Besides working with megastars, the Avila Brothers are committed to helping kids realize their dreams and become the next generation of musicians by providing them with the support and encouragement they need. The Avila Brothers share a passion for cultivating kids’ dreams and work closely with the “Turn Around Hearts” organization founded by former First Lady Michelle Obama. He reminds the kids to think big, dream bigger, and think outside of the box, and like Jay-Z says “You got to show up.” IZ imparts timely wisdom, encouragement, and much, much more.
