In a unique artistic presentation, Ensemble Arts Philly and the Schubert Organization present “Girl From The North Country,” written and directed by Conor McPherson featuring music and lyrics by iconic Bob Dylan.

On February 28, ThisIsRnB attended the show at the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia, one of the stops on the North American Tour.

‘Girl From The North Country’ depicts one of the darkest periods in American history; capturing the essence of the Great Depression Era with remarkable character portrayal, outstanding cast, poignant storytelling, and heart-wrenching song.

There are many storylines in “Girl From The North Country” that weave through gloomy scenarios such as mental illness, poverty, and racism with an unrelenting sense of pain and despair that keeps you in a grip you can’t escape.

Thearter goer raved about ‘Girl From The North Country’ with many echoing accolades of praise for the show saying,  “It was one of the best shows they’ve seen in a long time.” ”I am so glad I braved the rain to come out tonight, it was well worth it.” ” The cast, songs, and story were great.”
