Jermaine Dupri has been one of the most successful producers and artists of the last 20 years, in multiple genres and especially with his influential remixes. The founder of So So Def was recently featured on FUSE’s online series “Crate Diggers,” which gives viewers a look at the private record collections of many important DJ’s and producers. In the clip JD talks about how he digs for sounds and inspiration, buying a record stores whole collection, creating Usher’s diamond certified “Confessions” album, Michael Jackson’s genius, making “Money Ain’t a Thing” with Jay-Z and much more.
“Confessions was a very interesting album because it was the beginning of Usher going through life,” he explained. “Him talking about stuff that he wasn’t going through at the time, and then all that stuff became his life.”
