On Wednesday night Luke James returned to SOB’s in NYC for a sold out performance. The R&B singer had the famed venue packed from wall to wall with eager fans and industry professionals who came out to help celebrate the announcement of the release for his anticipated debut album.

Following an introduction from his manger Frank Gatson and head of Island Records David Massey, Luke hit the stage to a roaring applause. A projector cast a large full moon over the backdrop, to play into his moniker as Wolf James.

He opened his set with a vocally driven cover of Michael Jackson’s classic “The Way You Make Me Feel,” and then began running through past mixtape cuts and fan favorites including “Heartbeat.” He debuted a new record with a retro uptempo drum track, in which he fused with a cover of Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home.” But, the record that everyone was waiting to see him perform live was his brand new single “Options,” in which he delivered with as much emotion and passion as any fan of the New Orleans native expects.
