Alt-R&B singer Gallant created a nice buzz for himself with his impressive 2014 EP ‘Zebra,’ but following its release, the mysterious singer-songwriter basically disappeared.
Now, Gallant has returned with the first taste of what he’s been working on. “Open Up” is a gorgeous, atmospheric ballad that nicely pairs his soft, emotive vocals with a dramatic electronic production. He has also unveiling an elegantly simple and sensuous visual for the song, which he co-directed.
“Why don’t we open up sometime? / Sell me that gold in your veins / I want your fortress next to mine,” he sings.
The track is streaming on Spotify now, and will appear on his upcoming EP, due out this summer on the Mind of a Genius label.
