Throwback Thursday: Tamia – You Put A Move On My Heart

By

Tamia is a multi Grammy nominated singer/songwriter whose music spans several genres, however, she is best known for her R&B hits.

“You Put A Move On My Heart” was the first single released from her eponymous debut album. The single was a cover of the 1993 song by British singer Mica Paris, and was produced by the legendary Quincy Jones. The song became Tamia’s first hit on the Billboard R&B chart, peaking at No. 12.  In 1995 “You Put a Move on My Heart” was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.

The music video has a sexy vibe to it as Tamia sings in a booth while Quincy produces. Her vocals are perfection. Can you believe she was only 19 when she recorded this hit? Enjoy the throwback above.
