An Update from Our Managing Editor

By

Many of you are aware that our Founder and Editor, Jamie Wexler, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in October 2018. Although we were all in faith that he would overcome and continue on his journey as a pioneer for R&B music, it is with deep regret and extreme sorrow that we reveal that as of Monday, May 20, 2019, after a strong fight, he unfortunately passed away.

For more than a decade, Jamie — or simply Wexx as some knew him to be — has poured into the R&B community, encouraged many artists to pursue their dreams, and has impacted the lives of more individuals than we can possibly count. And while he may no longer be here with us physically, we hope that the work that he has done through ThisIsRnB.com and Tapemasters Inc. is a reminder that he has and will always be an advocate for showcasing everything that R&B embodied: love, peace, and a whole lot of soul.

Though the world has lost an incredible father, husband, son, brother, mentor, and friend to many (among so many other titles), we will never forget all that he was and all that he stood for. To any and everyone who has ever supported Jamie’s vision — whether new to this or true to this — we are forever grateful for your support, and hope that you were positively impacted from all of the work he put into ThisIsRnB.

In an effort to alleviate a portion of the financial burden incurred through his unexpected illness, please view the GoFundMe account created by his loving wife, Kadeja, and donate as you feel compelled. Thank you for your continued support.

With much love,

The ThisIsRnB Family

This is extremely sad. I wondered why you guys had not post any artles for a little while now. I am deeply sorry for your loss. May his soul find peace and may God grant his family and friends the strength to pull on. What a loss.
