By

The Whispers is a group from Los Angeles, with a consistent track record of hit records dating back to the late 1960s. The group were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003, and were winners of the Rhythm and Blues Foundation’s prestigious Pioneer Award in 2008.

The classic single “Rock Steady” was released from their 1987 album Just Gets Better with Time. The single was produced by the legendary production duo Antonio “L.A.” Reid & Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. The single also became their first Top 10 success on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 7, while also capturing the No. 1 spot on the R&B chart.

The legendary group is known for their longevity and their lead Scotty Scott’s fluid, melodic voice. Enjoy the throwback above!
