On December 4, RCA Records/40 Acres And A Mule will release CHI-RAQ – The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, from Spike Lee’s newest film. Executive produced by Lee, the 13-song disc will feature newly written material performed by award-winning Chicago natives R. Kelly, Jennifer Hudson and Sam Dew, as well as Nick Cannon, Mali Music and Jhené Aiko.
The latter two come together on the unexpected collaboration entitled “Contradiction.” Mali and Jhené play around with the serious nature of talking to someone who’s given up and can presumed to be dead.
“If you say that it’s over, I will die,” Mali sings, while Jhené adds, “We meet again old friend, look at how they got you where they want you.”
