#7. Kehlani – ‘Cloud 19’
Oakland native Kehlani became one of last year’s more exciting emerging artists thanks to her impressive singles “FWU” and “Get Away,” with the release of her debut EP ‘Cloud 19,’ she only added more fuel to the fire. Donning an attitude and flare that is all her own, the young singer paid homage to the ’90s, and introduced us to her take on Urban Pop.
Already one of our top choices to watch this year, Kehlani’s vibes are fun and free and we only see her building on that with the solid foundation she built here. – J.W.
