ThisisRnB Presents: 17 R&B Albums to Sweat in 2017

Bell Biv DeVoe – Three Stripes

Legendary trio BBD are probably getting the crown for longest absence between albums, as their last, BBD, was released in 2001 to lackluster reviews. The trio — made up of Ricky Bell, Mike Bivins, and Ronnie Devoe — caught the bug once again, and have their long-awaited comeback album Three Stripes set to be released on Friday, Jan. 27.

The project has been led by the Eric Sermon-produced “Run,” and more recently the surprise duet with SWV, on the aptly titled “Finally.” As the Boston natives celebrate their three decade long career with the much-anticipated, much-deserved New Edition biopic this week, getting back to the music that so many of their lifelong fans love, will surely be a worth a “Poison” inspired running man. -Jamie Wexler
